The new coins and banknotes were inspired by numerous distinctive features of Malaysia, incorporating elements of the country&#8217;s natural treasures, culture and heritage. The new series of coins and banknotes are themed &#8216;Distinctively Malaysia&#8217;, the banknotes feature traditional expressions in the art and craft, natural wonders, flora and fauna and the economy. Some of the highlights you will see on the new banknotes are the Hornbill, the Wau Bulan (traditional kite and symbol of Malaysia), the Rafflesia flower, turtles, Mount Kinabalu, Mount Api &#038; the Pinnacles at Mulu NP.<\/p>\n<p>The banknotes issued are in the denominations of RM1, RM5, RM10, RM20 and RM100.
