The Mount Kinabalu Summit Trail is quite expensive as there are only two operators that compete with each other on top of the mountain (where the resthouses are). Costs have gone up over the past years, but are still affordable if you must put a price on the wonderful experience this trip will be. Below a list with the separate costs. Not all prices are accurate, but it gives a good impression of the general price of a complete trip to Kinabalu National Park.<\/p>\n
1. Transport to Kinabalu National Park<\/strong><\/p>\n Flight to Kota Kinabalu from RM1xx onwards 2. Hotel at either Kota Kinabalu or at Kinabalu National Park<\/strong><\/p>\n Fully depends on your budget. Ranges from RM100 per room per night to RM500+ per night (should you stay at one of the 5 star resorts at Kota Kinabalu).<\/p>\n 3. Entrance fees<\/strong><\/p>\n Malaysian: RM3 (RM1 for children under 18) 4. Climbing permit<\/strong><\/p>\n Malaysian: RM30 (RM 12for children under 18) 5. Mountain guide fees<\/strong><\/p>\n Departure from Timpohon Gate: RM100* * per-guide for max 8 climbers (sharing is optional)<\/p>\n 6. Porter fees<\/strong><\/p>\n Departure from Timpohon Gate: RM66* * max 10kg per porter<\/p>\n 7. Climbing insurance<\/strong><\/p>\n RM7<\/p>\n 8. Transfer to Timpohon Gate<\/strong><\/p>\n RM30 for 5 person and +RM 6 for additional person (return trip)<\/p>\n 9. Certificate<\/strong><\/p>\n RM10<\/p>\n 10. Left baggage<\/strong><\/p>\n You can leave your luggage at the Park HQ for RM10<\/p>\n 11. Walking stick<\/strong><\/p>\n You can buy a walking stick at the park entrance for RM5<\/p>\n 12. Accommodation at Laban Rata Rest House<\/strong><\/p>\n Depends, but ranges between RM290 to RM500 per person per night (including meals).
