There are many golfing spots in the country for avid golfers to pack their golfing gear and head up the hill with their buddies for a breezy and relaxing golf session in a refreshing environment. With so many golf clubs to choose from, it is impossible to golf at just one place. As such, here is a list of favourite spots among both the local and expatriate communities in different parts of Peninsular Malaysia:<\/strong><\/p>\n

1.\tTPC Kuala Lumpur Golf Course & Country Club<\/h3>\n

Voted best golf course in Malaysia for many years in a row, the famous TPCKL golf club is one of a kind. Located near Kuala Lumpur, in the Bukit Kiara suburb, it\u2019s the perfect place for city dwellers that are looking for a fun day out and about. There\u2019s a scenic 18-hole West Course and another more challenging 18-hole East Course. The visitor fee for 9-hole course is RM270 and the 18-hole course will set you back RM450 excluding buggy & caddy.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re in town for a few days and just want to hit a few balls at their fabulous driving range, just pay the one-hour visitor fee of RM30 and you\u2019re good to go. Since opening hours are until 10pm it\u2019s also the perfect place to hit some balls at night. <\/p>\n

2.\tCameron Highlands Resort<\/h3>\n

At the Cameron Highlands Resort, you will never have to worry again about the perfect time for golfing as the weather is nicely chilly without being too cold. No more smelly, sweaty bodies as you\u2019ll be playing golf in a nice open-air climate. The resort has 18-hole golf course in the area, and this well-maintained course comprises luxuriant green fairways with well-developed trees, fine sand bunkers and tricky greens. Cameron Highlands<\/a> could probably offer the best and most pleasant golfing environment in Malaysia, given the country\u2019s hot and humid climate. <\/p>\n

With tree-covered mountains surrounding the entire course, you\u2019ll witness a scenic backdrop while playing a game. Plus, as the course is situated in a valley at 5,000 feet above sea level, the hilly and panoramic view is just spectacular which is perfect for you to concentrate on the game and win. If you\u2019re thinking of staying at the resort, the distance from the resort to the first tee is only a few minutes. While you\u2019re at it, why not chill for a while and have some snacks or a drink? The 18-hole, par 71 and 6101m golf course gives you the chance to do a full-day golf game or even just a quick 9-holes before the sun is down. Whichever one suits you best, there are also golf packages available for your convenience and golfing pleasure. <\/p>\n

Golfing rates may vary depending on time, date, slot availability and golfer\u2019s age (golden citizens get special rates). Facilities are fully-equipped (changing rooms, showers, and lockers). To get to the resort if you\u2019re driving on the road, take the Tapah or Simpang Pulai exit if you\u2019re from the South and the Simpang Pulai interchange (Exit 137) if you\u2019re from the North. <\/p>\n

3.\tAwana Genting Highlands Golf & Country Resort<\/h3>\n

Another place to play golf with a cool breeze high up in the mountains? It is possible at the stunning Awana Genting Highlands Golf & Country Resort. One of the biggest upsides is that golf at almost a thousand meters height means you\u2019re most likely not sweating throughout their 18 holes. Another great thing is that a round of golf over here is fairly affordable with a price tag of RM144 for a 9-hole game. Make sure to check out the package deals on the Awana Resort website, as they often have great deals for a one-night stay + a game of golf. While you\u2019re there, make sure to check out all other fun attractions at Genting Highlands. Fun things to do is visiting the theme park, the outlet malls, the casinos with slot games and card games (if you\u2019re more the online type, go check out the licensed and regulated fishin frenzy<\/a>). <\/p>\n

4.\tKelab Darul Ehsan Golf & Recreation<\/h3>\n

The Kelab Darul Ehsan, or KDE in short, is mostly frequented by KL\u2019s and Selangor\u2019s elite class. This used to be \u2018the\u2019 spot for the upper middle class in the late 90s to early 2000s too. The Ampang-based golf club was designed by Ronald Fream and it has 9 holes, par 36, with a field that spans 2884m. Listed by Par Golf Magazine as one of the must-visit golfing venues, KDE is not to be missed. In addition, KDE has also been dubbed as the Best 9-Hole Course in the country, with the course being set on 65 acres of land surrounded by the serene natural environment where night golfing is also available. For a different golfing experience, do try out the night golfing. <\/p>\n

5.\tPenang Golf Resort<\/h3>\n

PGR, as it\u2019s widely known, is a 36-hole golf resort nestled within the new township developed by Bertam Properties Sdn. Bhd. in Seberang Perai Utara, Penang. Graham Marsh, the world-renowned golf course architect, was the designer responsible for the PGR. The elegant golf club isn\u2019t just for the men to mingle as they could also play their role of a family man by bringing the family over. While the guys catch up over golf, the missus can use the available facilities of a swimming pool, tennis courts, gymnasium and computer room while the kids can spend their time at the playground. At the end of the day, the family can meet for karaoke and a sumptuous dinner at the coffee terrace.<\/p>\n

6.\tA\u2019Famosa Golf & Country Club<\/h3>\n

This 27-hole resort course is located near Malacca. With parkland style golf course and nine-hole loops that receives the unique touch of Ross Watson, A\u2019Famosa can take pride in itself since it has hosted the Malaysian Amateur Open Golf Championship in 2011. While the golf course is all scenic and peaceful, the clubhouse has spacious changing room, a business centre, a well-stocked pro shop and excellent food and beverage outlets like the Golfer’s Terrace and Bonus Caf\u00e9. <\/p>\n

With so many golf courses to choose from, you can only know which one you favour most by visiting and playing a few rounds at each. As you travel to each course, take the opportunity to stop along the way to visit the nearby places of interest and sample their local specialties.<\/p>\n

7.\tThe ELS Club Langkawi<\/h3>\n

This might be the most stunning golf club in Malaysia. It stretches out along the coast line of Langkawi Island<\/a> and it\u2019s a perfect 18 hole, 72 par course. Non-members can do 9 or 18 holes and the price comes with rental clubs and a golf cart. To us, this is by far the most scenic course in Malaysia as the rainforest backdrop right next to the beach makes this an unforgettable golfing experience. <\/p>\n

Langkawi Island is also one of the most stunning islands of Malaysia. There are a plethora of activities and sights to do and see and the beach vibe along Pantai Cenang is one of the most pleasant of Malaysia.<\/p>\n
