A Short Trip to Malaysia for a Gaming Enthusiast

If you are a gamer and want to take some time out and go somewhere, Malaysia is quite an intriguing place to visit. You don’t need to spend the whole trip sitting in a casino or staring at a screen either. There’s plenty to see, plenty to eat, and enough gaming-related stuff around to keep things interesting.

Perhaps the best place to start with would be Kuala Lumpur. Yes, it might be somewhat hectic at times, but then again, that’s what makes it interesting. There are large malls, electronics stores, gaming centres, restaurants, and anything else you can expect from an Asian city.

A Few Days in Kuala Lumpur

Give yourself a couple of days in the capital and just see where you end up. The Petronas Twin Towers are the obvious tourist stop, while Bukit Bintang is a good place to wander around, grab some food and watch the city doing its thing. KL by Night almost looks like a scene from the game Cyberpunk 2077.

If you’re the sort who can spend far too long looking at gaming gear, the shopping malls are dangerous territory. There are plenty of places selling laptops, consoles, accessories and other bits and pieces that you probably don’t actually need.

But let us talk about the food here. Malaysian cuisine might not be as widespread in the world as other Asian cuisines, but it’s definitely not going to disappoint. From spicy curries to rice and noodle dishes, you won’t go hungry.

Then Head for the Hills

If you are a gamer, you definitely will want to go up to Genting Highlands.

It is about an hour drive from Kuala Lumpur, provided there is no traffic, and seems like a totally different world from the hustle of city life. There, you will find a big resort called Resorts World Genting, which includes hotels, restaurants, shopping, entertainment and with all the latest slot games available plus the usual casino offerings. This is one of those places that can easily suck you into their atmosphere. You can take a walk, have a bite, look at the entertainment, and if you like games, then visit the casino.

The ride up there by cable car is also a nice experience, provided that you are not one of those people who regret being in the cable car the minute it leaves the station.

Don’t Spend the Whole Trip Gaming

If you want to get away from the casino floor or screen, Batu Caves are easily accessible from Kuala Lumpur and are definitely worth the trip. And once you get there, the whole vibe, with multicoloured buildings, the huge stairs and giant gold statue are going to make you feel like you’re in the middle of a fantasy game anyway.

Or you could just spend a whole day walking around, finding something to eat and enjoying the mood. It is sometimes even the best part of traveling.

A Nice Little Holiday

If you are planning to have a three-or four-day holiday, then Kuala Lumpur and Genting Highlands can be a good choice.

It’s also a reminder that being a gaming enthusiast doesn’t mean every holiday has to revolve around gaming. A few days in Malaysia gives you plenty of that, but there’s a whole country outside the casino waiting to be explored too.
