All Eyes on Visit Malaysia 2026!

Looks like Malaysia didn’t quite hit its tourist target for 2024, but hey, 25 million visitors is still a huge win! The country had aimed for 27.3 million, but 25,016,698 international tourists still made their way to Malaysia, marking a solid 24.2% increase from 2023. Not too shabby, right?

According to Tourism, Arts, and Culture Minister Tiong King Sing, Singaporeans led the pack with 9.1 million visitors, followed by Indonesia (3.65 million), China (3.29 million), Thailand (1.64 million), and Brunei (1.14 million). No surprises there—Singaporeans just can’t get enough of Malaysia’s amazing food, shopping, and beaches!

To boost tourism even further, Malaysia is pumping in RM10 million (~S$3.05 million) for promotional and development activities across different states this year. That’s a nice jump from the RM7.6 million allocated in 2024, so expect to see more ads, events, and travel deals rolling out soon!
